About Me

My photo
I am a stay-at-home mom. I have been married to my handsome and wonderful husband for over 14 years. Right now he's battling stomach/esophagus cancer. So I do my best to craft when I can. I have two wonderful boys. My oldest, Garett, is 24 and served 5 years in the Navy. He's been home since the beginning of the year (2014). We are very proud of him. My youngest, "DJ", is 13 and in the 8th grade. I have two Border Collie mix dogs (Koda and Rugu), one Calico cat (Hydie), one orange Tabby cat (Bosley), one Tea Cup Chihuahua (Gigi...I LOVE her sooo much), a Chiweinnie (Lily....sweetest dog ever), and a Jack Russell/Chihuahua (Connor....AAALL boy).

Growing in Unity - Day 1

Hello...and welcome to my Growing in Unity Day 1 project.

I'm really excited to be back doing the GIU.  Actually...GIU is how it ALL began.  August 8, 2011 was my first day as a GIU girl.  And I was really nervous because I didn't have ANY clue as to what I was supposed to do beforehand.  But I think it was Maria that helped me out and guided me in the right direction.  Poke your head into the past and have a look at my FIRST GIU POST

Anyway...here is my Day 1 Project...

When I saw this adorable stamp I knew I just HAD to have it.  It totally reminded me of my grandma's vintage flocked ornaments she would hang on our Christmas tree.  So I decided to use to some vintage colors and go with that theme.  The Merry and Bright was stamped with clear watermark ink and embossed with red Zing glitter embossing powder.  And to tie the whole vintage theme together...I had to use the little red pom pom trim.  I have so many memories of Christmas pasts.  I absolutely love Christmastime.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment on each project every day till Friday for a chance to win two Itty Bitty's of your choice.  Follow my blog so you know how to get back each day.  On Friday I will have my random number generator pick a name out of AAAALL the names that have commented.  So make sure you comment.  Winner will be announced on Saturday.  Good luck

MPC's Christmas in July Blog Hop

Half way there....can't believe it!!  Eeesh....sometimes thinking about it makes me itch LOL.

I love Christmas...EVERYTHING about it.  But mostly I love the Spirit of Christmas.  So to do something in July makes it a little bit giddy for me.

So thank you so much for joining our blog hop.  The first one that Mountain Plains Crafters has had.  If you are here after visiting Terri...then you are headed in the right direction.  We would like to thank #Clearsnap for making the hop all possible.  We each got the three items in our picture(s) to craft with.  And YOU have the chance to win all of the same 3 products.  All you have to do is leave a comment on each of our blogs.  I'll tell you more after you see my projects.

I made my tag for the Reindeer Food using the Archival ink to stamp with, the Smooch Spritz for the tag top...which you can't see really well :( ...and the edges were painted with the Smooch Spruce Ink.  The little directions say:

Sprinkle on your lawn at night
the moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam
this food will guide them to your home.

How fun to give this little gift to a special little neighbor child, niece/nephew, or just to keep for yourself and your children?

My next project I will be uploading soon so if you have come here and it's not below, check back later.

So thanks for coming by and visiting my blog.  Next up is the AMAZING Marilynn.  Don't forget to leave a comment here and on everyone else's blog for your chance to win some of these products for yourself. They are SO fun.  And if you want to follow me....I would love that.

Huge Number

Happy Friday everyone....

It's been awhile since I've posted in FWF.  Been so busy puppy sitting my grandpuppy while my son works at nights.  She wears me out.

So here is my card.  A nice pretty card using the Itty Bitty Single Flower Miracle and a sassy sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Grassy Days

My friend, Denise, is having issues with her blog and posting so I'm going to post this for her using my blog.  So this is her entry...not mine.

Her card was made using the Unity January Kit of the Month.

I love her blue flowers in the tree :)

Silver and Metallics

Happy FWF

So this card I made just playing around with my metallic pencils and set it up for Splitcoast Stampers Card Sketch Challenge.  I love the way this came out.  I took a close up pic so you can see how rich the colors came out here...however the camera still doesn't do the colors justice.

The stamp I used was from the December 2012 KOM and the sentiment is from a grab bag.  Thanks for stopping by and have a fab weekend.

She has a fawn in the lawn

Happy Friday everyone...

This is the sample card I made for the Lawn Fawn Challenge we have going on over at Mountain Plains Crafters.

I used the Whitney Girl and Deer to Me Stamps all watercolored in.

Come on over and join us for fun and win some Lawn Fawn stamps and paper.

Pregnancy Congrats

Found out today that my LOOOONG time best friend's son and his wife are having a baby.  SOOOO.....I just HAD to make a card.  I have been wanting to use these cute silhouette stamps from Unity for a long time and now I finally got to ink one up.
I took a plain black card and sprayed it with pink paint mist, pink shimmer mist, and silver shimmer mist.  The tag was sprayed with pink paint mist, pink shimmer mist, and silver shimmer mist.  I used silver washi tape and placed a "Congratulations!" rub-on over one of them.  Added a few sequins and POOF....instant shimmery cute card for the not-so-girly girl.  :)
