About Me

My photo
I am a stay-at-home mom. I have been married to my handsome and wonderful husband for over 14 years. Right now he's battling stomach/esophagus cancer. So I do my best to craft when I can. I have two wonderful boys. My oldest, Garett, is 24 and served 5 years in the Navy. He's been home since the beginning of the year (2014). We are very proud of him. My youngest, "DJ", is 13 and in the 8th grade. I have two Border Collie mix dogs (Koda and Rugu), one Calico cat (Hydie), one orange Tabby cat (Bosley), one Tea Cup Chihuahua (Gigi...I LOVE her sooo much), a Chiweinnie (Lily....sweetest dog ever), and a Jack Russell/Chihuahua (Connor....AAALL boy).

Frost and Snow

Unity's December KOM Sketch Challenge

I love making Christmas cards.  I love pulling out all my Christmas card making goodies to get my creative juices flowing.

This card was created using my Stamp of the Week (Frosty Mornings) and the snowflake background was from the November 2011 KOM.  I stamped the background twice for a larger background.

I colored in the bird with colored pencils and applied "snow" on the branch using Marvy's Puffy Velvet pens.  Then on the holly leaves I put white glue and clear glitter to give it the "frosty" look.

The snowflakes are from Martha Stewart and I outlined them in a blue shimmer gel pen.

Thanks for looking.  Please leave a comment and Happy Holidays.

Love Winter

Unity's November KOM Sketch Challenge

Winter is my favorite time of year.  I love the snow, the crisp cold air, the smell of fireplaces in the wind, and NO BUGS!  lol

Stamps used are from the November 2011 KOM.

Snowflake background
Rollie Pollie Snowman

I used the Cricut for the two large snowflakes, the Marvy snowflake punch smaller snowflakes, and a Fiskars snowflake border punch for the tiny snowflakes.  I covered all but one snowflake in glitter.  Rollie Pollie was colored using colored pencils.  I topped it all off with a length of fiber tied in a bow at that top with a snowflake button tied within the bow.

Happy Halloween

I was soooo glad when I got my October KOM.  This is what I quickly whipped up....

The spiders are from an EK Success punch.  The spider web is actually made from a used dryer sheet.  The fence was cut out on my Cricut machine and of course the pumpkin and the "Happy Halloween" are the stamps from the October '12 KOM.

I added blue shimmer spray to the background paper to give a starry shine. And then edged the paper with a pigment white for a foggy look.
