About Me

My photo
I am a stay-at-home mom. I have been married to my handsome and wonderful husband for over 14 years. Right now he's battling stomach/esophagus cancer. So I do my best to craft when I can. I have two wonderful boys. My oldest, Garett, is 24 and served 5 years in the Navy. He's been home since the beginning of the year (2014). We are very proud of him. My youngest, "DJ", is 13 and in the 8th grade. I have two Border Collie mix dogs (Koda and Rugu), one Calico cat (Hydie), one orange Tabby cat (Bosley), one Tea Cup Chihuahua (Gigi...I LOVE her sooo much), a Chiweinnie (Lily....sweetest dog ever), and a Jack Russell/Chihuahua (Connor....AAALL boy).

Spring Wreath

Spring Wreath

Before I show you the picture of my card...let me get you away from the mindset of my WINTER card and let you enjoy a few pictures of my handsome Navy son, Garett, in Thailand with lush hillsides and beautiful oceans.  I'm so jealous.

I made this card and I used a Unity sentiment on the inside and as I was going through my pictures, I realized I forgot to take a picture of the inside and now it's gone.  But the phrase that was used was the STRENGTH from the Empowered Words.

SUPPLIES:
Stamps- Unity (Empowered Words...inside)

Die Cuts, Punches, Embossing- Fiskars Lattice Border, Spellbinders, Martha Stewart Pine Branch, mini flower punches, Sizzix Embossing Folder.

Offray Ribbon, Stickles Glittler Glue

Resist the Challenge? NOT

Another Friends with Flair Friday Post...

A schoolmate of mine that lives in California, likes to have challenges every now and then.  This time the challenge became Heat Embossing Resist Technique...and only because I asked her if she's ever done it before.  So her sister-in-law wanted in on the fun as well.  Here is my creation:

I had so much fun making the card, I decided to make a matching tag to go with it.

Stamps- Unity (Vintage Doily - Doilies, small phrase, Itty Bitty enjoy explore believe)

Misc- Offray Ribbon, Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page, Distressed Ink (Worn Lipstick) Rubber Stampede Dye Ink (Purple and Yellow), White Embossing powder.

The Great Horned Owl

Hooting in the Tree

This is a card I made last night. A friend of mine and I set challenges for each other every now and then and last night the card was to be a Nature themed clean and simple. There is a Great Horned Owl that frequents a HUGE tree in a neighbors yard but usually after dark...so I dedicate this card to the Great Horned Owl that I heard hooting in the tree around 7:30 last night. I was so excited because it was still daylight out so I ran to my window to have a look. Unfortunately, the only thing I spotted was it's tail feathers moving as it hooted. However, there were scores of Robins standing around "yelling" at the owl. Obviously protecting their nests. When the owl flew away (large wing span I might add), the Robins attacked aggressively as it continued to fly away. Someday I will get a good picture of it...

SUPPLIES:

Stamps:  Unity- Itty Bitty (Time & Seasons), Friend (April 2012 KOM), Leaf background (unknown...came from grab bag).

Other Supplies:  Twine from The Twinery, Colored pencils, spellbinders.

I Love You Puffy

Happy FWF FRIDAY!!

I can't believe that it's already Friday again.  Colorado has taken much of a winter hit for Spring this year and our May 1st was greeted with so much snow.  By the time the snow stopped, we had over 20 inches on the ground.  My dogs LOVE the snow.

When the snow started, it was WET and very very heavy.  Many tree branches in town were lost.  Luckily the neighbors trees didn't break...but they sure came close.

 Anyway...Now on to my project.

I finally got the chance to play with the cute little panda in the April KOM.  He is so adorable.  My son, who is in the Navy and currently on his way towards North Korea :( absolutely loves Penguins and Pandas.  So this card is going in the mail tomorrow for him.  He will be out in the ocean for 10 months.  So I'm sure this will make him smile.

SUPPLIES:
Stamps:  Unity April 2013 KOM

Other supplies:  Asian paper (I don't remember the maker), Fruit Punch and Christmas Red Stickles, Purple Glaze Gel Pen, Asian luck token, Offray ribbon

Techniques:  I made the panda's face, flower, and the glitter heart puffy by using a large ball stylus that I "learned" from Debby (Design Team Member from Simon Says Stamp)  I love love love her creations....
So hence the title "I Puffy "Heart" You"  :)
