About Me

My photo
I am a stay-at-home mom. I have been married to my handsome and wonderful husband for over 14 years. Right now he's battling stomach/esophagus cancer. So I do my best to craft when I can. I have two wonderful boys. My oldest, Garett, is 24 and served 5 years in the Navy. He's been home since the beginning of the year (2014). We are very proud of him. My youngest, "DJ", is 13 and in the 8th grade. I have two Border Collie mix dogs (Koda and Rugu), one Calico cat (Hydie), one orange Tabby cat (Bosley), one Tea Cup Chihuahua (Gigi...I LOVE her sooo much), a Chiweinnie (Lily....sweetest dog ever), and a Jack Russell/Chihuahua (Connor....AAALL boy).

Younger peeps wanting out

Here is another little card I made for my Aunt that requires frequents laughs.  Our family is down to only 4 people and she loves it when I call and make her laugh.  I guess I remind her of my mom.  My mom was always good at making her laugh.

This stamp set is gossip, hot-flashes, & crazy.  Such a great whimsy set that is retro as well.  I love the quirky sentiments.

Again, thank you for stopping by and visiting me.  Have a GREAT weekend.

Garden Tag

Happy Friday, everyone.  Today was a nice cool day...but I sure had a hard time staying awake.  Not sure why.

Anyway...here is a card I made using the garden (what-not} stamp set.  I just LOOOOVE this set.  I'm working on another card using a different tag from this set.

The dies I used were Spellbinders Majestic Labels Eight, Cottage Cutz Ivy, Die-Namics Roses, Impression Obsession Butterflies, Memory Box Tiny Village.

I inked the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Inks Vintage Photo and Walnut Ink.

Thank you for stopping by and having a look.

Creating with Paper Pags at MPC

Wanna win a prize sponsored by Lawn Fawn, you get to choose a stamp set of your choice!  How "deer" is that?  Get it?  Deer?  Fawn?! Yeah, ok...I'm tired LOL!  So what do you have to do to get such a great prize?  First, make sure you "like" us on our Facebook page, then head over to Lawn Fawn on Facebook and tell them MPC sent you.  You don't have to, but they love to hear from you :)

Be sure and comment on one or all of our trivia questions throughout the weekend.  Only ONE comment per question, please. Each question you answer, earns you an entry!  Our design team has chosen the theme, "Creating with Paper Bags".  Yes, we're doing a little upcycling and making fun things with paper bags.  Be sure and visit their blogs and show a little love <3.
Check in throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday, answer the questions and we'll announce a winner on Monday.  The contest ends Sunday, May 3rd at midnight ET.   OPEN TO INTERNATIONAL

When I first learned about albums being made from paper bags, I admit, I was intrigued and of course, intimidated.  I love challenging projects but usually don't commit to lengthy ones.  But once I have everything planned out with papers, cardstock, embellishments, and theme...everything else after that seems to fall right into place.  But the best gratification of it all comes from two things:  taking paper bags that would have been bought as lunch bags and eventually thrown away and turning it into an album to cherish forever...AND, seeing the expressions on the recipients face when they page through it.  Or just hearing how they love it if I can't be there in person.  The following album was made for my nephew.  I used chipboard for the cover to give the album more of a rigid cover and something that will be durable throughout the years.

Everything from the paper bag is used.  Even the bottom flaps of the bags become a page.

The next group of photos are the "tags" or inserts that go inside the paper bags which open along the outer edges of the album.  These can be used for adding more photos, memorabilia, journaling, or whatever.

Thank you so much for visiting.  I hope you enjoyed my album.  Have a great weekend, Happy Scrapbooking, and good luck in the contest.  #nsd2015
