Growing In Unity Day 5

Well, it's my last day.  And I'm exhausted...with Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping.

This last group of goodies are some easy little mini gift cards/tags.  I spritzed the background with Smooch Spritz.  Then stamped the owls from the Hoot Hoot Hooray set.  The sentiment is from a group of stamps I won a looooong time ago.  I lightly colored in the owls with colored pencil and added a strip of washi tape to the edge.

I hope you like my project and enjoyed all of the weeks projects of all things owlies.  If you haven't left a comment on my other blogs, make sure you go back and check them out and leave comments.  I will pick two names this weekend and winners will be announce around Monday or Tuesday.  Happy Holidays everyone!!

Growing In Unity Day 4

Today's project is a Christmas card using the owl from the set Going to be Owl Right.  The sentiment is from Foxy Christmas.

The image is watercolored.  I covered the background paper with some vellum so that it won't be overwhelming for the actual focus of the card...the owl.  Then added a few die cut snowflakes, some washi tape, and gold twine.  I really love how this turned out.

Hope you liked todays card.  Don't forget to leave a message for a chance to win 25 random stamps.  2 winners will be picked.  Good luck and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Growing In Unity Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of my Growing in Unity projects "All Things Owlies"

Below is a tag/ornament created from wood laminate sample chips I got from Home Depot...for FREE!!!

I stamped my Decorate My Life image and watercolored it.

I then added pearl drops to her collar trim and hat trim.  I also added some clear crackle dimension to the heart.  I colored the bell gold using my gel pens and added dots of white with my white gel pen.  After everything was dry I Mod Podged my image and my "winter wonderland" die cuts to the wood chip sample.  I then added some dimensional embellishments after it was dry.

I shredded up my MayArts Ribbon for a different kind of bow.

For the back of these, you can cut out a piece of cardstock and attach it with adhesive of your choice so you can write a message on it or just to cover up the chip description sticker.  It's kind of hard to remove so covering it would be better.

Or you can hang this as a cute ornament for your Christmas tree.  The possibilities are endless.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and it gave you some inspiration.  Don't forget...leave a comment for a chance to win 25 stamps.  TWO random people will win.

Have a great day and rest of your week.

Growing In Unity Day 2

Happy Tuesday.  My project today is a wooden tag with a fussy cut stamp image of the Owl Have No Doubt stamp.  I watercolored this beautiful girl and added some burlap behind her and added a cute egg shaped butterfly acrylic sticker.  Now that I think about it...a couple of beads on the jute would be really cute!!!  Take a white paint marker and write on the back and attach to a gift!  How cute would that be with a burlap bow?

I hope you like my small little project for today.  Come back tomorrow for a really COOL idea.  Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win 25 random Unity Stamps.  YAY!!!!  There will be TWO lucky winners.  GOOD LUCK and have a great day.

Growing In Unity Day 1

Welcome to my week of Growing In Unity.  My theme for you guys will be all things owls.  I just absolutely LOVE owls.  They are fascinating birds of prey.  Did you know that owls are the ONLY bird with soundless flight?  Yep.  Their feathers are completely silent during flight.

Anyway...for this project (which I completed in late summer), I simply took a nice flat river rock...stamped it with Staz-On ink...and painted it with Acrylic paints.  The background sky and grass is painted with glitter paints.  After the paints were dry, I sealed the rock with a sealer and placed it along the edge of the stepping stones.  I'm going to add more like this to create colorful rocks along the path.

I hope you enjoyed my project.  Don't forget to leave a comment to win!!!  And come back tomorrow to check out my next project.

MPC and ADORNit Coloring Book Hop

Hey Everyone.  Welcome back to another awesome blog hop featuring another fantastic product from ADORNit.  Their coloring books.  These babies are full of delightful images using heavy artist paper that's great for watercoloring, colored pencils, markers, acrylics, you name it.

The books I'll be coloring out of are

For my first project I used a piece of art from my This 'n That Book by Lindsay Ostrom.  As soon as I saw it, I knew in an instant I would be coloring it for my first "whatever" project.

I watercolored the whole image and then painted the outer edges with gold acrylic paint.  I mod podged the image onto a plaque I had and waited for it to dry.  Then I aded some detail to it like the pearl drops.  I added eye screws and wire for the hanger and voila!!....a cute home decor item.

My next item is from the Christmas coloring book also by artist Lindsay Ostrom.  I made a quick and easy Christmas plaque using heavy chipboard/mat board.  I added some Stickles and Tinsel glitter for sparkle and flower pearls that looked like snowflakes for some pop. The swirls were painted using Yasutomo Shimmer/Pearlescent Watercolor Paints.  I punched holes and added eyelets to add some MayArts twine to use as a decorative hanger.

Now, I had two other cards, but my dog knocked them down into their water so I have to quickly make two more projects.  But those are the two I have so far.  Please come back and check for my others.

**Newly added project:  Here is my newest project I just finished.  Chip Sample Christmas Ornament!
For this I simply Mod Podged the art onto the chip sample (You can get these for FREE at Home Depot in the kitchen counters section).  In this case, I had to punch a hole through so I added an eyelet and strung some MayArts twine through and added a couple of beads.  The Stickles still sparkles through the Mod Podge.
Isn't that the sweetest face ever??????

I have one more project coming....

AND here it is...FINALLY....

This is from the Christmas Coloring Book.  I painted it using the Yasutomo Pearl Paints.  Then embellished the snowflakes and dots with pearl drops and Stickles.  As well as a die cut layered snowflake and a cute charm. This one was fun to do because it was "coooold" lol.

Now here's the details of this AWESOME hop...Each blog will have a special word that you need to collect and form a phrase, to be entered to win a fabulous prize from ADORNit. At the end of the blog...go back to ADORNit's site to enter all your clue words.

********************************************

My first project is repurposing used dryer sheets and turning them into "spider webs".

The photo below are supplies that I started to use but wasn't happy so minus the 3D Glossy Glue.
Softly stretch the dryer sheet in a zig zag direction.

Take Craft Bond Spray Adhesive and spray the surface of your card.
Stretch out the dryer sheet and place on the card.  Sprinkle lightly with glitter in desired areas if you want.
Trim edges of leftover dryer sheets.
Then attach all your embellishments to your card :)
My ArtPlay piece is from the sheet called Wicked by Artist Lindsay Ostrom.

My next project...I'm really happy about :)

With my Silhouette, I cut out a pop-up gift card box.
And how cute would it be for your message to pop up on one of these adorable ArtPlay cards?  But with THIS particular card...I went one step further...

Aaah that good old phrase..."Trick or Treat...smell my feet...give me something good to eat."  My ArtPlay piece is from the sheet called Wicked by Artist Lindsay Ostrom.
So what better thing to eat but a night at McDonalds for dinner?  I just attached the cards to each other with some double sided scotch tape.

My third project was something I've wanted to make for quite some time.  I made this from cuts from my Silhouette and stickers from WalMart.  My ArtPlay piece is from the sheet called Wicked by Artist Lindsay Ostrom.  But I just realized I forgot to make my October and November Tag LOL.  So it helps if you have a month for your calendar.  :)

I'm adding a 4th project...I know...kinda late.  But it's so cute.

This is a tag I made using a darling image by Carolee McMullin on the sheet called Adventure.  I looove this sheet.  And I found some paper to go with it perfectly.

Thank you EVERYONE for stopping by and having a look.  I hope I inspired you from one of my projects.  Comments are much loved and all read.  Have a GREAT day.

Fleece Navidad

Hello Friday Friends!!!

It's a crispy cool Friday here in Colorado and I just LOOOOOVE fall weather.  It gets me in the mood to start making my Christmas cards.  I had to take my son to his school today to pick up his trombone (no school today because of teacher meetings) and while I was waiting out front...I couldn't help but absorb myself in the beautiful colors of the trees.

Another reason I love fall.

Anyway...here is a card I made using Lift Me Up from Unity, of course.  I cut the lambs apart and added my own handmade Santa hat and made my own sentiment of Fleece Navidad.  I also added tiny heart rhinestones where the hearts are.  The "fleece" is actually white Flower Soft.  These little darlings make me smile eveery single time I look at them.  I hope you like my card.

Don't forget to leave a comment!!
Have a GREAT weekend everyone

National Coloring Day with Adornit

Howdy everyone.  Thanks for checking out my projects.  I'm going to make my introduction quick and simple.

My first card I made using Adornit's Art Play.  I watercolored the image and added sequins in the tree for some extra bling.

My second project I made is one of Adornit's Art Play 8x10 images to color.  I watercolored this a few months back for a friend of mine.  I needed the perfect frame for it so I went thrift store shopping, and I found it.  The perfect wood frame. I included a close up of part of it to show some of the elements I added to give it some "pop".  Liquid pearls in the "keep" and the center of the sunflower along with some gold Flower Soft in the center of the sunflower too.  I forgot to put a butterfly on this before I took the pic but there is a dimensional butterfly on it  too.

This card I made using Unity's stamp set "Naturally You".  And the "thanks" came from "Total Cuteness".  This was watercolored as well.  I love watercoloring because you have a lot of control of your blending of colors and fading. It's hard to tell but the green paper behind the image is actually glitter paper.  I couldn't get it to catch the sun.  Thanks again for stopping by.  Be sure to leave me some comments.  I really love reading them. :)

Mountain Plains Crafters Summer Challenge with May Arts

Mountain Plains Crafters Summer Challenge with May Arts

Hey everyone....thanks for stopping by and checking out my projects I did using May Arts ribbon.  I have to say that May Arts Ribbon is the BEST ribbon ever.  Bright colors, awesome designs, beautiful lace, textures, flowers, etc.  Anything you want, they have.

But anyway...here are my cards I created...

This first one is a Birthday card for my stepmom.  Her birthday is July 1st...so close to Independence Day...so I kinda combined the two.  I used Graphic 45 paper from their French Country collection.  The Sunflowers are from Martha Stewart, the doily I bought off a facebook crafting site, the brad in the center is from Crate Paper (Little Bo Peep), and the stamp sentiment is from Penny Black.

All the ribbon (plaid hearts, blue satin, white flowers, green leafy, and red/blue and white stripe) is from May Arts.  I did have to cut the striped ribbon just a bit and I used some FabriTac glue on the edges to stop it from fraying.  Then I notched them out to create flags/banners.

This second card is a belated Father's Day card for my Father-in-law.  We ended up going to see him and I never made a card...and even though I knew he loved Lighthouses...he expressed it over and over that day, so I HAD to make him a card.

Starting off with using Graphic 45 paper from the same line.  The nautical ribbon and twine is from May Arts.  The anchor button is from October Afternoon.  The "keep life simple" embellie is from Memory Makers.  The stamped sentiment is from Unity's Itty Bitty Fathers Day set. The star and metal button, I don't remember where I got those but the fabric tag I believe one of my Design Team Members sent it to me :)

So that's it.  I hope you enjoyed my cards and it helped inspire you in some sort of way.  I would love it if you would leave a comment :)  Thank you so much and have a great rest of your June and AWESOME July.

Younger peeps wanting out

Here is another little card I made for my Aunt that requires frequents laughs.  Our family is down to only 4 people and she loves it when I call and make her laugh.  I guess I remind her of my mom.  My mom was always good at making her laugh.

This stamp set is gossip, hot-flashes, & crazy.  Such a great whimsy set that is retro as well.  I love the quirky sentiments.

Again, thank you for stopping by and visiting me.  Have a GREAT weekend.

Garden Tag

Happy Friday, everyone.  Today was a nice cool day...but I sure had a hard time staying awake.  Not sure why.

Anyway...here is a card I made using the garden (what-not} stamp set.  I just LOOOOVE this set.  I'm working on another card using a different tag from this set.

The dies I used were Spellbinders Majestic Labels Eight, Cottage Cutz Ivy, Die-Namics Roses, Impression Obsession Butterflies, Memory Box Tiny Village.

I inked the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Inks Vintage Photo and Walnut Ink.

Thank you for stopping by and having a look.
