About Me

My photo
I am a stay-at-home mom. I have been married to my handsome and wonderful husband for over 14 years. Right now he's battling stomach/esophagus cancer. So I do my best to craft when I can. I have two wonderful boys. My oldest, Garett, is 24 and served 5 years in the Navy. He's been home since the beginning of the year (2014). We are very proud of him. My youngest, "DJ", is 13 and in the 8th grade. I have two Border Collie mix dogs (Koda and Rugu), one Calico cat (Hydie), one orange Tabby cat (Bosley), one Tea Cup Chihuahua (Gigi...I LOVE her sooo much), a Chiweinnie (Lily....sweetest dog ever), and a Jack Russell/Chihuahua (Connor....AAALL boy).

Growing in Unity - Day 5

OH!!!  How sad.  My last post.  Christmas in July has come to an end.  I know that Friday is the 1st....but I'm writing this post on the last day in July...so it still counts LOL.

Here is a peek at my Friday project from WAAAAY back when I was a GIU girl.  Friday, August 12, 2011 - My Growing in Unity Project Day 5

Now here is TODAY's project.

This is Charlee Girl.  Watercolored using watercolor pencils of all sorts.  The ice was topped off with "Waterfall" Stickles and then I added some cute dimensional embellishments.  The snowman wants to join the fun.  LOL.

Thank you so much for following me and commenting on my projects.  I had fun doing the Christmas in July theme.  I hope it gave you ideas and inspiration.

Make sure you leave your comment.  I will be picking a name tomorrow (Saturday) and announcing it some time in the later afternoon.  Take care and have a GREAT weekend.

Growing in Unity - Day 4

*Sigh*  Only 2 more postings left.  I'm glad everyone is enjoying seeing all my projects.  I enjoy seeing what everyone else comes up with too when posting on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook page.  I guess that's why I love to craft every day.  So much inspiration out there.

Anyway...my next project is a technique I saw on the Show and Tell page.  But I can't remember who it is again.  I masked off a section of the greeting card base and spritzed the background with three different colors of Smooch Spritz.
Then, I stamped my RolyPoly snow dude from the November 2011 KOM in the bare center.  I didn't plan on the birdhouse over-lapping the background spray but after I colored the image in with my Copics, it kinda looks like he's coming through a hole and the birdhouse is on one side of the opening.  Anyway...I added some Stickles for the falling snow and stamped the sentiment from the October 2010 KOM.  I really love this RolyPoly guy.

For yesterday's Shaker Ornament....it's really easy to do.  I just cut out a circle in the foam board then cut another circle in the center big enough for the image. This is when I placed my ribbon loop round through so that all the next layers will cover up the part going around through.  I glued some ribbon on the inside raw edge of the foam board to cover it up, placed acetate over the top opening and glued it down.  Cut out decorative paper the same cut as the foam board and adhered it over the top of the acetate surface.  Placed all my shaker goodies inside the back opening of the ornament then adhered my image to the back (making sure I have my glue very close to the edges of the opening to "seal off" any shaker goodies from dropping down and becoming stuck (I did this to both sides).  Then I adhered another backing to give it a nice finished look.  I used red cardstock.  I glued tinsel garland around the outer raw edges of the foam for a nice finished look.  Then I decorated the outside with my die cuts and embellishments.

Thanks for visiting me again.  Also....don't forget to keep leaving comments after every post for your chance to win Two Itty Bitty's of your choice.  So fun!!!  See ya tomorrow.  My last day :(

Growing In Unity - Day 3

Happy Hump Day

Here it is Wednesday ALREADY.  I can't believe it.  Hope everyone's week is going great so far.  Mine is.  I've been selling a LOT of my destash crafting stuff.  I have been collecting so much over the years that I think they call it hoarding?  Anyway...I'll share with you the site I buy and sell from.  It's on facebook.

Here is my project for today....

I used the "You Melt My Heart" stamp and turned it into a snowglobe shaker ornament.  I used foam board and embellished the outside with Impression Obsession pine branches and a pinecone.  Then topped it off with some snowflake punches and a rhinestone.  The inside of the shaker is filled with sequins, Flower Soft and glitter.

Thanks for visiting me again.  Don't forget to leave a comment each day on my blogs for your chance to win 2 Itty Bitty's of your choice.  You'll have till Friday.  Have a great day....

The facebook groups I buy and sell from are Scrapbook Deals and Scrapbook Bargain Basement.  Both of these sites are closed groups but all you need to do is request to join and they'll let you in...pretty quick too.

Growing in Unity - Day 2

Ok....I forgot to mention in yesterday's blog that the theme I am going with all this week is Christmas.  Christmas in July.

I love to make cards with glitter, rhinestone, and sequins.  Anything that shimmers.  So I knew that with this ornament, from the October 2013 KOM, I would have to use my glitter Zing Embossing powder. Topped with matching bows and a cute tag on top...this is sure to brighten someone's holiday card wall.

Thanks for stopping by.  And don't forget to leave comments on my blog every day this week for your chance to win two Itty Bitty's of your choice.  Make sure you follow me so you can get back here easier.  Have a great Tuesday.

Growing in Unity - Day 1

Hello...and welcome to my Growing in Unity Day 1 project.

I'm really excited to be back doing the GIU.  Actually...GIU is how it ALL began.  August 8, 2011 was my first day as a GIU girl.  And I was really nervous because I didn't have ANY clue as to what I was supposed to do beforehand.  But I think it was Maria that helped me out and guided me in the right direction.  Poke your head into the past and have a look at my FIRST GIU POST

Anyway...here is my Day 1 Project...

When I saw this adorable stamp I knew I just HAD to have it.  It totally reminded me of my grandma's vintage flocked ornaments she would hang on our Christmas tree.  So I decided to use to some vintage colors and go with that theme.  The Merry and Bright was stamped with clear watermark ink and embossed with red Zing glitter embossing powder.  And to tie the whole vintage theme together...I had to use the little red pom pom trim.  I have so many memories of Christmas pasts.  I absolutely love Christmastime.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment on each project every day till Friday for a chance to win two Itty Bitty's of your choice.  Follow my blog so you know how to get back each day.  On Friday I will have my random number generator pick a name out of AAAALL the names that have commented.  So make sure you comment.  Winner will be announced on Saturday.  Good luck

MPC's Christmas in July Blog Hop

Half way there....can't believe it!!  Eeesh....sometimes thinking about it makes me itch LOL.

I love Christmas...EVERYTHING about it.  But mostly I love the Spirit of Christmas.  So to do something in July makes it a little bit giddy for me.

So thank you so much for joining our blog hop.  The first one that Mountain Plains Crafters has had.  If you are here after visiting Terri...then you are headed in the right direction.  We would like to thank #Clearsnap for making the hop all possible.  We each got the three items in our picture(s) to craft with.  And YOU have the chance to win all of the same 3 products.  All you have to do is leave a comment on each of our blogs.  I'll tell you more after you see my projects.

I made my tag for the Reindeer Food using the Archival ink to stamp with, the Smooch Spritz for the tag top...which you can't see really well :( ...and the edges were painted with the Smooch Spruce Ink.  The little directions say:

Sprinkle on your lawn at night
the moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam
this food will guide them to your home.

How fun to give this little gift to a special little neighbor child, niece/nephew, or just to keep for yourself and your children?

My next project I will be uploading soon so if you have come here and it's not below, check back later.

So thanks for coming by and visiting my blog.  Next up is the AMAZING Marilynn.  Don't forget to leave a comment here and on everyone else's blog for your chance to win some of these products for yourself. They are SO fun.  And if you want to follow me....I would love that.
