About Me

My photo
I am a stay-at-home mom. I have been married to my handsome and wonderful husband for over 14 years. Right now he's battling stomach/esophagus cancer. So I do my best to craft when I can. I have two wonderful boys. My oldest, Garett, is 24 and served 5 years in the Navy. He's been home since the beginning of the year (2014). We are very proud of him. My youngest, "DJ", is 13 and in the 8th grade. I have two Border Collie mix dogs (Koda and Rugu), one Calico cat (Hydie), one orange Tabby cat (Bosley), one Tea Cup Chihuahua (Gigi...I LOVE her sooo much), a Chiweinnie (Lily....sweetest dog ever), and a Jack Russell/Chihuahua (Connor....AAALL boy).

Growing in Unity - Day 4

*Sigh*  Only 2 more postings left.  I'm glad everyone is enjoying seeing all my projects.  I enjoy seeing what everyone else comes up with too when posting on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook page.  I guess that's why I love to craft every day.  So much inspiration out there.

Anyway...my next project is a technique I saw on the Show and Tell page.  But I can't remember who it is again.  I masked off a section of the greeting card base and spritzed the background with three different colors of Smooch Spritz.
Then, I stamped my RolyPoly snow dude from the November 2011 KOM in the bare center.  I didn't plan on the birdhouse over-lapping the background spray but after I colored the image in with my Copics, it kinda looks like he's coming through a hole and the birdhouse is on one side of the opening.  Anyway...I added some Stickles for the falling snow and stamped the sentiment from the October 2010 KOM.  I really love this RolyPoly guy.

For yesterday's Shaker Ornament....it's really easy to do.  I just cut out a circle in the foam board then cut another circle in the center big enough for the image. This is when I placed my ribbon loop round through so that all the next layers will cover up the part going around through.  I glued some ribbon on the inside raw edge of the foam board to cover it up, placed acetate over the top opening and glued it down.  Cut out decorative paper the same cut as the foam board and adhered it over the top of the acetate surface.  Placed all my shaker goodies inside the back opening of the ornament then adhered my image to the back (making sure I have my glue very close to the edges of the opening to "seal off" any shaker goodies from dropping down and becoming stuck (I did this to both sides).  Then I adhered another backing to give it a nice finished look.  I used red cardstock.  I glued tinsel garland around the outer raw edges of the foam for a nice finished look.  Then I decorated the outside with my die cuts and embellishments.

Thanks for visiting me again.  Also....don't forget to keep leaving comments after every post for your chance to win Two Itty Bitty's of your choice.  So fun!!!  See ya tomorrow.  My last day :(
